Another television veteran as joined the cast of Josh Boone’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
Collider reports that Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, Big Little Lies, The Little Drummer Girl) is following in the steps of his little brother Bill Skarsgard (Pennywise) to play a villain within the world of Stephen King, as he’ll take the role of the main villain Randall Flagg.
Collider has exclusively learned that, on the heels of winning an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for his menacing turn on HBO’s Big Little Lies, Alexander Skarsgard is preparing to play the personification of evil, The Man in Black himself… Mr. Randall Flagg.
Skarsgard will join a cast that already includes James Marsden (Westworld), Amber Heard (Aquaman), and Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost).
After a deadly plague kills most of the world’s population, the remaining survivors split into two groups – one led by a benevolent elder and the other by a maleficent being – to face each other in a final battle between good and evil.
The series begins filming in Vancouver next week and will air on the streaming platform CBS All Access sometime next year.
