Star Trek is shockingly finding new life on the small screen while Paramount Pictures had some trouble getting actors to sign-on for Star Trek 4 and the film is ultimately in limbo.
Currently, Star Trek: Discovery wrapped up Season 2 and they’re casting for the new Picard series. We now have a production update to share concerning the next season of Star Trek: Discovery.
HN Entertainment has learned that filming on the third season will be completed by December 31st.
They will indeed be returning to film at Pinewood Toronto Studios in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Canadian stage location has been the home for film/TV projects such as Pacific Rim, Crimson Peak, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Shazam!, Suicide Squad, The Expanse, IT, The Strain, and Kick-Ass 2.
It’s been previously revealed that Star Trek: Discovery will start shooting on July 8th.
Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise will co-showrun the third season.
While Paramount figures out how they want to handle the film franchise fans will have plenty of Star Trek shows to tide them over.
An air date for the third season of Star Trek: Discovery has yet to be announced by CBS All Access. Season 1 began airing September 2017 and Season 2 began airing on January 2019, I’m sure they’ll also try to figure out how to roll out the new season while navigating the Picard series rollout as well.
