MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE LAST TWO EPISODES AHEAD
In the last episode, the Mandalorian aka Dyn Jarren has figured out the assignment from The Client was for a baby and not some bail-jumper and shot IG-11 in the head after he tried to terminate it.
Well, after the theory that Dr. Pershing might be from Kamino there might be a reason why cloning could be involved with the plot.
The latest episode was directed by Rick Famuyiwa.
There is more compelling evidence that the Baby Yoda, might actually be a clone of the Jedi Master. We see him use force powers to save Dyn Jarren against a horned creature. When Dyn tries to retrieve an egg for the Jawas in exchange for the parts they stole from his ship.
Also, it was kind of nifty to see them use puppets rather than CGI for the baby.
I’m sort of curious why they lost the baby 50 years ago and why they are suddenly now interested in its location along with if any other Jedi Masters (if this is indeed a Yoda clone) were cloned too.
The next episode of the series Chapter 3 is set to drop on November 22nd.
Here is the official release schedule for the first season of The Mandalorian.
- Chapter 1 – Tuesday, November 12
- Chapter 2 – Friday, November 15
- Chapter 3 – Friday, November 22
- Chapter 4 – Friday, November 29
- Chapter 5 – Friday, December 6
- Chapter 6 – Friday, December 13
- Chapter 7 – Wednesday, December 18
- Chapter 8 – Friday, December 27
We won’t have to wait terribly long for the second season as Lucasfilm/Disney has already greenlit it (first reported by HN Entertainment) with Jon Favreau and Carl Weathers officially signed-on to direct episodes.
I’m slightly curious given the large gap between The Mandalorian and Marvel’s The Falcon & The Winter Soldier (due in fall 2020) if we’ll see Disney+ begin airing the second season before the fall (in the summer maybe?).
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the empire and before the emergence of the first order. The series depicts a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
