Spider-Man: Far From Home was the final entry in Phase 3 and he seemingly did a bit of setting-up for Phase 4. One of them is that is actor J.K. Simmons is officially back playing J. Jonah Jameson and Spider-Man has been framed for the murder of Quentin Beck aka Mysterio along with his secret identity being revealed by Jameson.

That will certainly become a big problem for Peter Parker in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Spider-Man 3. Seeing Parker a potential criminal could also be the crux for the government to assemble a team to catch him, possibly made-up of fellow criminals with superpowers.

It certainly would leave an opening for Sinister Six or simply Kraven in the next movie.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill are seemingly off-world somewhere as Skrulls Talos and his wife Soren from Captain Marvel was revealed to be doubling for Nick/Maria while Fury is on some ship populated by a bunch of Skrulls. There were a few cues that wasn’t really them as Fury was being extremely harsh with Parker (he can be blunt but not mean) and they were also talking about a “Kree cell” while in Berlin, Germany.

This reveal could have meant to tease Captain Marvel 2, as the Skrulls have been revealed to be good guys and the Kree are the big bads. However, it seems like Carol Danvers was part of spearheading the peace treaty between Xandar and the Kree Empire. I’m thinking if they announce a Captain Marvel 2 at San Diego Comic-Con, it would suggest it would take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

It also might be a way to plant seeds for a very different version of a Secret Invasion adaptation, instead of Skrulls, it could be Kree or other aliens hiding among humans. While the Kree aren’t shapeshifters, we’ve seen with Dr. Lawson that they can hide in plain sight without needing to change their appearance too much.

I’d personally love to see The Lunatic Legion as this Kree cell or some of the villains of Captain Marvel 2.
