Spider-Man: Far From Home screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have revealed while speaking with ComicBook two potential Spidey villains they’d like to tackle in the future. Those two being Kraven The Hunter and The Spot, the latter being a less recognizable name but still one that could be an interesting foe for Parker on the big screen.
Here is what they pair had to say when they were asked about which villains they’d like to see in the future.
MCKENNA: “That’s a tough one. It’s also so tough because we’re dealing with MCU and Sony with it all, and some office would be like, ‘Well, you can’t use that one.’ Or what about this villain? ‘Oh, well, Fox owns that villain.’ But now that things have changed with Disney with Fox…”
SOMMERS: “I’ve always had a soft spot for Kraven the Hunter.”
MCKENNA: “We read a lot of [Spider-Man’s] comics that were fun. There were some really great storylines with him. Spot seems like a really cool villain.”
The Spot has the ability to create portals from his spots, which makes him a tough villain to fight and also catch, having slight teleporting powers.
Chris McKenna and director Jon Watts seem to be on the same page about Kraven The Hunter, as Jon recently mentioned that he’d eventually liked to the villain used. Tom Holland has echoed this a while ago as well.
Sony Pictures is currently developing a script for a solo film for Kraven that would likely take place within their anti-hero cinematic universe alongside Venom, Morbius, Silver Sable, Black Cat, and Jackpot.
Spider-Man 3 has yet to be announced along with having screenwriters or a director hired, so we likely won’t hear anything soon unless Kevin Feige mentions something during the Marvel Studios presentation at San Diego Comic-Con.
