It looks like Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts will be directing another star from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, Watts is in talks to direct Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan in the fantasy film Methuselah. Watts replaces Joachim Rønning who left the project to helm Disney’s Maleficent Mistress of Evil.
The film from Warner Bros. would focus on the Biblical figure who managed to stay alive for more than 400 years. Tom Cruise was circling the role a couple of years back, before leaving the project to make The Mummy.
Jordan’s Outlier Society, which has a first-look deal with the studio, will produce, along with Heyday’s David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford. Watts and Jordan will soon start a search for a new writer on Methuselah. The latest draft of the film was by Beirut writer Tony Gilroy.
