While the Spawn movie from Blumhouse and director Todd McFarlane doesn’t seem to be shooting anytime soon it looks like the violent comic book character is finally coming to a video game fans have been campaigning for a long time.
WB Games released a teaser trailer for the first Mortal Kombat DLC pack, which focuses on the return of big bad Shang Tsung, using a model based on Mortal Kombat actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. It was also officially announced that Image Comics’ Spawn, Sindel, Nighwolf, and two other unnamed additions would be characters in the first DLC pack.
We suspect that we’ll get future videos showing off the other DLC characters in the coming weeks.
Spawn had been a fan-favorite and long rumored addition going back to Mortal Kombat X. I have to assume he’ll end up using his signature chains and red cape in his brutal fighting moves, along with his arsenal of massive guns and other military weapons.
Mortal Kombat X DLC packs have previously added outside playable characters such as Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th, Predator, Alien, and Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
I’m sure fans are going to be anticipating what other playable characters could be coming as they seem to be pulling from both comics and movies.
