‘Space Jam 2’ Starring LeBron James Expected To Wrap Filming On August 23rd – Adds ‘Suicide Squad/Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Art Director

Warner Bros. is getting ready to begin filming Space Jam 2 this summer starring LeBron James taking over the mantle from Michael Jordan and be directed Terence Nance with Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler producing.

HN Entertainment has learned that principal photography on the live-action/animation hybrid film is expected to be completed on August 23rd, giving them plenty of time to add the Looney Tunes into that footage.

There is also some production team news we can share as we’re hearing that Clint Wallace will be film’s supervising art director, who previously worked on movies like Suicide Squad, Ant-Man & The Wasp, Top Gun: Maverick, Ender’s Game, and Independence Day: Resurgance.

Filming is said to begin on June 17th in California.

Space Jam 2 isn’t the only live-action/animation hybrid feature film Warner Bros. is getting ready to shoot as they’ll be filming Tim Story’s Tom & Jerry at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom this year as well.

Warner Bros. has set Space Jam 2’s release date for July 16th, 2021.

Swackhammer (Danny DeVito), an evil alien theme park owner, needs a new attraction at Moron Mountain. When his gang, the Nerdlucks, heads to Earth to kidnap Bugs Bunny (Billy West) and the Looney Tunes, Bugs challenges them to a basketball game to determine their fate. The aliens agree, but they steal the powers of NBA basketball players, including Larry Bird (Larry Bird) and Charles Barkley (Charles Barkley) — so Bugs gets some help from superstar Michael Jordan (Michael Jordan).
