Sony’s Uncharted movie has long yet another director as Deadline reports that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) has exited the video game adaption that will star Spider-Man’s Tom Holland.
Director Dan Trachtenberg has exited Uncharted, the Sony Pictures film adaptation of the massive selling PlayStation game. Tom Holland remains attached to star, and sources said the studio is moving quickly to lock Trachtenberg’s replacement — meetings are underway now — and that a new filmmaker should be in place by end of summer. The film will begin production early next year.
Dan joins fellow directors David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, and Shawn Levy, who previously left the project.
Filming is still expected to begin next year as they’ll seek another replacement.
Sony Pictures has given the film a release date of December 18th, 2020, but it remains to be seen if they’ll stick to that date.
