It was bound to happen, but Sony Pictures seemingly has pushed the release date of their Masters of The Universe movie to next year. I say bound to happen as the film was previously slated for a December release date and hasn’t even started filming. A new tweet from ERC suggests a new release date listing for the film has it being bumped into 2020.
Sorry, He-Man fans. Sony's MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE in 2D will NOT drop Dec. 18, 2019, instead its pushing to 2020 TBD. Good thing, because there's no director or cast attached yet. But hey, at least it's still on the schedule.

People should maybe ignore the second part of the tweet, as the Nee Brothers are indeed still attached and TheWrap reported that Noah Centineo is attached for the lead role.
Also, DiscussingFilm has mentioned that Godzilla vs Kong and Altered Carbon costume designer Ann Foley has joined the film’s production team. HN Entertainment can confirm Foley is indeed joining the crew.

Filming on the project is said to begin this summer in Prague.
Sony Pictures will likely announce the new release date once filming begins.
When the evil Skeletor (Frank Langella) finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) locates inventor Gwildor (Billy Barty), who created the Key and has another version of it. During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie (Courteney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill). Now both He-Man and Skeletor’s forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon.
