Various trades including Deadline are now reporting that Sony Pictures has hired new screenwriters to tackle their Masters of The Universe reboot feature film.
Now, it’s being reported that screenwriting duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are reportedly in final talks to write a new draft for the film. Their past credits include Iron Man, Punisher: War Zone, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Sony’s upcoming release Men In Black: International.
It’s interesting to see them hire writers from a Chris Hemsworth project like Men In Black: International since fans have been championing the Aussie action actor for the role. A tongue-in-cheek version of He-Man might be the only way to go since it’s very much like a Flash Gordon or Thor: Ragnarok character that might benefit from a campy-type adventure film.
Adam and Aaron Nee are still seemingly attached to direct for the moment.
Since a new script is underway when the film will begin production seems like a mystery until that is completed, the studio has yet to announce a release date either which is smart with all of its production hiccups.
The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest, most global threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.
