While promoting his upcoming comic book film Bloodshot, MCU actor Vin Diesel dropped an interesting tidbit to ComicBook about the future of the Guardians of The Galaxy which seemingly includes a role in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love & Thunder.
DIESEL: “I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
This isn’t that shocking given that Avengers: Endgame ended with Thor joining the crew of the Benatar and re-titling the group the Asgardians of The Galaxy.
With Love & Thunder releasing before Guardians of The Galaxy 3, there is an expectation that is going to be dealt with beforehand.
I’m slightly curious if the Time Variance Authority from the Loki series might come into play concerning Gamora considering she is from another time and has been thrust years into the future without a way to get back.
Filming on Thor: Love & Thunder is expected to begin this August in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia at Fox Studios Australia, the same facility that is currently being used for Shang-Chi.
The cast for the sequel includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Taika returning as Korg in a bigger role and Christian Bale set to play a villain.
I’m getting the impression that sequels from now on are going to become these mini-Avengers event films.
Disney has given Thor: Love & Thunder a release date of November 5th, 2021.
