Last summer, I broke the news of plot/character information for Sly Stallone’s fifth Rambo film now officially titled Rambo: Last Blood along with being the first to reveal the sequel’s director would be Adrian Grunberg (Get The Gringo, Narcos) when I was still at OmegaUnderground.
Here’s what to expect from the movie without spoiling it.
While Rambo is trying to live a quiet life as a ranch hand stateside, a group of local girls including Gabrielle (played by Yvette Monreal) are kidnapped by a cartel of sex traffickers working both sides of the border and the girls are smuggled into Mexico, now being held by the Martinez Brothers (played by Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Oscar Jaenada). Rambo teams up with a resourceful former soldier turned journalist, Carmen Delgado (played by Paz Vega), who has gathered intel on the cartel after her sister was also a victim of the sex traffickers and agrees to help Rambo rescue the girls.
Now, it’s been revealed by ExhibitorRelations via Twitter that Rambo: Last Blood will be heading into theaters on September 20th.
Allegedly, Trump has already booked this for the White House screening room. Lionsgate's RAMBO: LAST BLOOD drops Sept. 20, 2019. This time, to save a friend's daughter, Sly goes after one of Mexico's most violent cartels.

It’ll be interesting to see how tasteful the film will end being as the director has previously worked on stuff like Netflix’s Narcos. Stallone had previously suggested on social media this is likely the last time he’ll be portraying Rambo on screen as he intends to retire the character, as he seems to have with the Rocky character as well after making Creed II.
I’m sure a trailer or some footage will be revealed soon at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
