During an in-depth interview with Parade touching upon her lengthy career, actress Sigourney Weaver has revealed that she will be reuniting with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd for the new Ghostbusters film directed by Jason Reitman.
She’s also set to reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the new Ghostbusters, due July 2020. “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” she says. She won’t reveal any details except to confirm she’s reprising her role as hauntee Dana Barrett.
The film’s leads include Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, and Finn Wolfhard.
Said to be set in the same film universe of the first two movies, will focus on family that returns to a small town. Grace will essentially as the new film’s lead, a socially awkward youngster that has problems connecting with peers.
It remains to be seen if Annie Potts, Ernie Hudson, or Rick Moranis will be reprising their roles.
Filming begins next month in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
When she’ll shoot her scenes is a little unknown at the moment given that Weaver also mentions that she’s heading down to New Zealand to work on the Avatar sequels.
Sony Pictures has given Ghostbusters a release date of July 10th, 2020.
