‘Sicario’ Screenwriter Taylor Sheridan To Rewrite Tom Clancy’s ‘Without Remorse’ Starring Michael B. Jordan

It was recently announced that Paramount Pictures would be looking to make a Jack Ryan spin-off film franchise focusing on secondary character John Clark created by author Tom Clancy, played by Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger. The first film is going to be an adaptation of Without Remorse as director Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of The Soldado) and actor Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panther) are attached.

Variety is now reporting that one of the hottest screenwriters currently working in Hollywood will be doing rewrites on the action film, as Taylor Sheridan will be reuniting with director Stefano Sollima as the two previously worked together on Sicario: Day of Soldado.

Sheridan is a director in his own right with Wind River and the upcoming thriller Fast starring Chris Pratt expected to begin filming in April. His other writing credits include career standouts such as Sicario and Hell or High Water.

Clark, aka John Terrence Kelly, is an ex-Navy-SEAL-turned-operations-officer for the CIA who has appeared in 17 novels starting with 1988’s “The Cardinal of the Kremlin.” Though mainly seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analyst Jack Ryan with the physical elements of missions, Clark finally stepped into the spotlight with “Without Remorse,” which tells his backstory on how he came to work for the CIA.

Jordan is also attached to reprise the role of John Clark in a Rainbow Six film as well.

Variety says that Paramount hopes to get production started sometime this year but have yet to give Without Remorse an official release date.
