Back in March, HN Entertainment exclusively revealed that Sherlock Holmes 3 starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was planning on taking place in Old West era San Francisco, California.
HN Entertainment has learned from a source that Sherlock Holmes 3’s setting is expected to be the Old West in the United States, specifically San Francisco, California.
Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle did have a fascination with certain American figures and befriended them during his life. Some included his friend/magician Harry Houdini, who tragically died from complications due to a punch to the stomach he wasn’t expecting along with real-life American law enforcement agent William J. Burns, that Doyle dubbed the “American Sherlock Holmes”.
Well, it looks like production is indeed heading to California as Variety reports that Warner Bros. has landed a $20.8 million tax credit to shoot in the state. Suggesting our information on the upcoming film’s plot was indeed correct.
“Sherlock Holmes 3,” starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, has been selected by the California Film Commission to receive a conditional $20.8 million tax credit for shooting in California.
Director Dexter Fletcher (Eddie The Eagle, Rocketman) was recently announced as replacing Guy Ritchie on the project.
Warner Bros. has officially given the film a release date of December 22nd, 2021.
