Warner Bros. has officially given David F. Sandberg’s Shazam 2 a release date of April 1st, 2022.
This suggests that Shazam! 2 won’t begin shooting until early 2021 and will be released after Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.
Star Zachary Levi has previously suggested that there won’t be a Shazam/Black Adam crossover until Black Adam 2 or Shazam 3. So, with that being made public would suggest that we shouldn’t expect to see Black Adam and Shazam come to blows any time soon.
The original film shot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and there is a good chance that they could return to shoot there given the tax incentives along with Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden potentially being reserved for bigger productions.
The next big DC Comics release will be Birds of Prey in early February.
Here is a revised release date lineup for upcoming DC Comics movies coming between 2020-2022.
- Birds of Prey – February 7th, 2020
- Wonder Woman 1984 – June 5th, 2020

There is also a wave of projects that have been in development limbo for ages that could be given new life such as Lobo, Deathstroke, Sgt. Rock, and Justice League Dark after Joker’s billion-dollar success may lead to more mature projects getting a second-look b.
We all have a superhero inside of us — it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson’s case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do — have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he’ll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam’s magical abilities.
