Director Josh Boone has revealed on his official Instagram account that a new trailer for his X-Men spinoff film The New Mutants will arrive next month.
When and where is currently unknown.
While folks have speculated that Marvel Studios could incorporate the New Mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that has yet to be confirmed by Fox, Disney, Marvel or the filmmakers/cast.
The Singerverse has been essentially killed as the X-Men will now carry-on over at Marvel Studios, the franchise has officially moved over to Marvel from Fox and Ryan Reynolds’ is already meeting with them about future Deadpool movies.
There had been talks of reshoots but those haven’t happened as director Josh Boone has been busy with his CBS All Access series The Stand, based on the Stephen King novel.
The cast of New Mutants includes Anya Taylor-Joy (Last Night In Soho, The Witch) as Illyana Rasputin aka Magik, Alice Braga (Predators) as Dr Cecillia Reyes, Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga (The Stand) as Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar, and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball.
I guess we’ll know for sure if they’ll stick to the latest release date of April 3rd, 2020.
You can watch the first trailer below.
Magik, Wolfsbane and other teenage mutants try to come to grips with their superpowers while staying at a secret facility.
Interesting enough, New Mutants artist Bill Sienkiewicz revealed that Josh Boone showed him the latest trailer while appearing on the latest episode of Kevin Smith’s podcast FatmanBeyond.
SIENKIEWICZ: “I hear from Josh Boone the director, he sent me the new trailer…and it is phenomenal, I got chills. It looks because of the whole Disney/Fox takeover, it’s got the blessing of Marvel and it feels more Marvel in terms of what they’re doing. But also the horror elements of the film are in place, it’s absolutely stellar from what I’ve seen.”
