It was recently announced by Amazon that they would be renewing their science fiction series The Expanse for a fifth season with the fourth to premiere on December 13th on Prime Video.
Well, HN Entertainment has now learned from multiple sources that that production on the film season is expected to begin filming on October 15th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will wrap on February 19th.
A thriller set two hundred years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.
Amazon picked up the science fiction series from SyFy after it was cancelled and seemingly are happy enough with the show to now jump into a fifth season before the fourth has even aired.
The streaming service also has some interesting projects on the horizon with the second season of Jack Ryan leading to a third season greenlight before airing. They’re also about to start shooting their Lord of The Rings live-action series that is expected to get a whopping 20-episodes in the first season.
Again, the fourth season is set to drop on Prime Video on December 13th.
