One of the projects we missed some details on yesterday includes The Russo Brothers spearheading an adaption of the obscure comic book series Grimjack for Amazon with Kevin Murphy set to write it via Deadline.

Grimjack is being developed at Amazon by AGBO, Halfire and being written by Kevin Murphy, the creator of Defiance, Heathers the Musical and Reefer Madness.

Grimjack was written by John Ostrander and Tim Truman.

Grimjack is the story of mercenary John Gaunt and his crew who are forced to dig into their own pasts when Grimjack’s estranged teenage daughter comes to him looking for help.  This will take them through the insane streets of Cynosure, a mysterious city where all parallel universes intersect.  There, this unlikely team fights to save not just themselves, but all the planes of existence as we know it.

Some other projects they developing include a live-action feature film of Japanese anime Battle of The Planets, which they hope to direct.

A remake of The Thomas Crown Affair starring Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan.

Producing a post-apocalypse feature film titled The Electric State which will be directed by Andy Muschietti (IT, IT: Chapter 2, Mama) with a script from the screenwriting duo of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier).

They’re also behind a Netflix animated series based on the fantasy card game Magic: The Gathering with the hopes they’ll eventually make a live-action spinoff.

Their next directorial project will be Cherry starring Tom Holland as former Army medic that turns to a life of bank robbery.

Basically, the Russo Brothers will have plenty of projects to keep them busy before they get the Marvel itch to come back and make Secret Wars for Marvel Studios.
