Rick and Morty is Adult Swim’s most scientifically accurate animated comedy. Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty’s dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry. Watch Rick and Morty battle everything from interdimensional customs agents to Cronenberg monsters now.
Our pals over at IGN were on hand at the Rick and Morty panel at San Diego Comic-Con where they got a quote from co-creator Dan Harmond suggesting that they are planning to have Season 5 ready a lot sooner than it took to get Season 4 finished.
HARMOND: “It took us a year and a half to get in writing we were allowed to do the show. There was a lot of stuff that happened in between 3 and 4 that will never have to happen again.”
It was previously confirmed by the pair while speaking recently with EntertainmentWeekly that they’ve already started working on Season 5.
Also, during their panel at co-creator Justin Roiland has teased the possibility of Rick and Morty movie, something he’s done previously on episode commentaries.
Interestingly, Roiland also raised the possibility of a Rick and Morty movie during the panel. While not confirmed, it appears to be an idea he and Harmon are kicking around.
Season 4 of Rick and Morty is officially set to begin airing sometime in November.
