First Official Look At ‘Black Widow’ Villain Taskmaster Revealed By Concept Artwork

While we’ve seen plenty of blurry set photos of Black Widow villain Taskmaster shot by locals in Budapest, Hungary. Marvel Studios’ artist Andy Park has posted the first official and full look at Taskmaster in fight sequence against Black Widow via his own concept artwork for the film.

The image was first posted by Andy Park on his Twitter account.

Andy Park happens to be the director of visual development and concept artist at Marvel Studios on multiple movies in the MCU.

HN Entertainment was on hand when Marvel showed a bit of footage from Black Widow that featured Taskmaster. Below is the description of the footage shown since it wasn’t made public.

The footage began with a montage of Natasha throughout her appearances in the Avengers films and Civil War. It ends with the scene from CW where Tony tells her they’ll come for her.

We then cut to Natasha entering an apartment that Yelena is also in. They both draw handguns on each other and then fight before sharing a drink. We then see a quick montage of Natasha training (running up the mountain rocks, shooting alongside other Widows, etc).

Then there’s footage of Natasha and Yelena riding motorcycles through a European city and it ends with Natasha inside of a crashed truck with Taskmaster fighting her on a bridge at night. His costume looks better on-screen and has the hood/shield. She’s surprised when he mirrors her exact moves.

Cuts to the film’s title card.

What is extremely interesting is that Kevin Feige never announced who is playing Anthony Masters aka Taskmaster in the film. It is possible that they haven’t cast the role and simply had a stuntman in the costume for the scenes shot in Hungary, with a plan to hire someone later in the UK leg of the shoot.

  • David Harbour as Alexi Alanovich Shostakov aka Red Guardian
  • O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason aka The Agent
  • Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff aka Iron Maiden
  • Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova

Taskmaster would certainly be a crossover villain and likely someone that doesn’t have to be a one-off baddie given his connection to multiple Marvel heroes and villains.

Filming is expected to resume at Pinewood Studios UK.

Black Widow is officially set for release on May 1st, 2020.
