Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have announced that Andy Muschietti is attached to direct a post-apocalyptic feature titled Electric State.

Muschietti, who’s currently working on IT: Chapter 2, will help bring to life the imagination of the MCU writers. It’s not clear if it will be live-action, but the visuals of it do seem to tease it will be animated. Along with the news, they unveiled concept art to the San Diego audience.

Other than the art, not much is known about the upcoming project. Judging by the aesthetics and the bleak post-apocalyptic setting, this seems right up Muschietti’s alley. The problem is, he’s already set to direct a variety of other productions.

Andy Muschietti is currently attached to helm the live-action Attack On Titan and is in talks to direct DC’s The Flash, starring Ezra Miller. It can be assumed he’ll choose which one to work on first after completing his work on this year’s IT sequel.

Actually, it’s based on the illustrated book by Simon Stålenhag, so there’s much more to be known about the story and aesthetic, just pick up the book.
