Reportedly, Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story) was hired by to help with rewrites on the Indiana Jones 5 script that had been previously penned by David Koepp.

Well, Koepp is seemingly still working on the project as he revealed during a recent interview with DenOfGeek.

DEN OF GEEK: I don’t know how much you can talk about Indiana Jones 5. You were working on it for a bit, and you’re not anymore.

KOEPP: “I actually am again. I’m working on it again. We’re still trying. And I think we’ve got a good idea this time. We’ll see.”

Director Steven Spielberg and star Harrison Ford are still expected to return for the fifth installment with a release date set by Paramount Pictures for July 9th, 2021.

Spielberg is currently working on his West Side Story remake for 20th Century Fox.

Indy 5’s release date would suggest that filming would begin spring/summer 2020.

I have some personal hope that either they make something that leads into a soft-reboot/prequel or they just don’t end up making it. As much as I like Harrison Ford in the role after Kingdom of The Crystal Skull I’m worried that they’re making it just to make it.
