My personal anticipation increases for Wes Anderson’s next live-action feature film titled The French Dispatch as the amazing cast grows, another name has been revealed to us. This time actually confirmed from the actor themselves.
A love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines.
Two-time Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan has revealed during press for Mary Queen of Scots that she has joined the growing cast of Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch while speaking with GoldDerby and that will join the shoot in the spring. The interview was spotted by our good friends over at DiscussingFilm.
Ronan had previously worked with Anderson on The Grand Budapest Hotel.
The rest of the stellar cast reportedly so far includes Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton, Oscar-nominee Bill Murray (previously rumored), Oscar-winner Frances McDormand, Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro, Jeffrey Wright, and Oscar-nominee Timothee Chalamet.
Its excellent production team includes The Grand Budapest Hotel cinematographer Robert Yeoman, production designer Adam Stockhausen, and costume designer Milena Canonero (four-time Oscar-winner).
The French Dispatch is currently without a distributor or release date, but there is a strong expectation that Fox Searchlight will end up securing the distribution and could get an awards-friendly fall release.
