Little Bitchy Bitch’

Deadpool star and producer Ryan Reynolds is currently promoting the release of Once Upon A Deadpool in Beijing, China and Variety published a few quotes from the actor potentially giving us an update on the status of Deadpool 3 and joked about a possible title as well.

His team was already at work on “Deadpool 3,” he added, but didn’t directly address whether it would be made with Chinese censors in mind. He did say, however, that in the third installment, they were “looking to go in a completely different direction,” saying that “often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.”

I’m not terribly sure what Ryan means by going in a “completely different direction” unless they might have to make alterations since Drew Goddard’s X-Force might give them a reason to go another route and scrap plans they had before.

Deadpool’s Chinese nickname is translated to Little Bitchy Bitch and Ryan jokingly suggest that nickname should be used for the third movie’s title as Deadpool 3: Little Bitchy Bitch.

“Deadpool’s” Chinese fans have dubbed the character “Little Jianjian,” which Fox has loosely translated to “Little Bitchy Bitch,” though perhaps “despicable little guy” would also be appropriate, given the hard-to-define, negative-yet-endearing sense of “jian,” a trendy word at the moment.

At a presser, Reynolds laughed at the moniker. “I feel like my wife gave that to me first, but I guess China can get the credit.”

He called it the “perfect Deadpool nickname,” saying: “It could have been something much weirder, like ‘Hunting Wolf Blood-Chucker.’ I’ll take Little Bitchy Bitch any day; it’s the most fitting. In fact, ‘Deadpool 3’ should be called ‘Deadpool 3: Little Bitchy Bitch.”

Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently revealed to ScreenRant in an interview that they are in the early stages of developing the third movie with Reynolds, but Drew Goddard’s X-Force was seemingly happening first and the current priority.

Here is what Wernick had to say.

“We’re constantly in touch with Ryan (Reynolds), and we’re always throwing ideas back and forth via text and phone conversations. So, it’s always at the front of our minds. We’ll get there when the time is right, but as of right now, X-Force is next up.”

When and where either X-Force or Deadpool 3 begins production remains to be seen.
