HN Entertainment has learned that there is a sign that a new Deadpool movie might be already in development at Marvel Studios after recent teases from actor Ryan Reynolds that it could be coming in Phase 5 and his visit to the Marvel Studios offices.
A new shell company has been designated by Disney (most likely Marvel Studios) for a possible upcoming feature film.
FINGER GUNS PRODUCTIONS LLC
Wade Wilson is known for the finger guns pose (seen in the films, comics, and merch) and the company is described as “guns and ammo” (a possible cheeky reference to the magazine).
Guns and ammo could be a reference to the Brad Pitt (cameoed in Deadpool 2) line in David Fincher’s Se7en when Pitt’s Detective David Mills is describing how crazy John Doe is.
I’ve been trying to figure something in my head, and maybe you can help me out, yeah? When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you’re insane? Maybe you’re just sitting around, reading “Guns and Ammo”, masturbating in your own feces, do you just stop and go, “Wow! It is amazing how f—- crazy I really am!”? Yeah. Do you guys do that?
There is a chance it could be the Hawkeye Disney+ series, but it would be odd that “guns and ammo” would be referenced in the company info when Clint Barton and Kate Bishop use bows as weapons of choice.
Deadpool co-writer Paul Wernick had recently confirmed to EntertainmentlyWeekly meeting with Marvel Studios about future films that would be kept R-rated (something echoed by Bob Iger and Kevin Feige).
WERNICK: “We’re always in touch with Ryan. We’ve got several projects with him in addition to the Deadpool universe.”
“I think the party line and truth is we’re all still figuring it out. Marvel has promised to continue to let us play in the R-rated Deadpool universe, and the hope is that they will also let us veer into the MCU a little bit as well and play in that sandbox.”
“Our feeling and Ryan’s feeling is that it’s got to be the right idea, it’s got to be great… I think once we collectively agree what idea that great idea is we’ll be off to the races. Ryan’s super-busy, we’ve got a lot of projects lined up, but we wake up thinking about Deadpool, and we go to sleep thinking about Deadpool.”
