Rumor Suggests New ‘Star Wars’ Series On Disney+ Could Explore Crimson Dawn

A new rumor coming from StarWarsUnity, a new site from our pal Jeremy Conrad from MCUCosmic, suggests Lucasfilm is looking to develop some Solo: A Star Wars spinoff series for Disney+.

I’ve heard a rumor that some kind spin-off set after the events of the movie is being developed as a Disney+ series. As it probably wouldn’t be about Han, Chewie, or Lando; some kind of underworld series dealing with the Crimson Dawn and other scoundrels sounds the most likely.

The Crimson Dawn aspect reads more like speculation on Jeremy’s part but would sound interesting as Underworld was indeed a project that George Lucas was developing and was comparing it to HBO’s Deadwood. Placing Crimson Dawn and Hutts (along with other criminal syndicates) into that Underworld project might be a way to go to tackle a corner of the universe without having to do a feature film.

There was a cameo from Darth Maul as part of Crimson Dawn in Solo, which could suggest he might be involved if it does explore his organization in greater deail.

Lucasfilm confirmed that their Kenobi series takes place eight years after Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith, placing it smack dab during the timeline that Solo: A Star Wars Story took place.

Having other shows play around in that era wouldn’t be terribly shocking and they did setup Maul’s Crimson Dawn, this could be an excuse to cover a limited Maul series if they wanted to do so.

The Mandalorian is a different thing entirely, as that show will be set five years after Star Wars: Return of The Jedi and tackles the bounty hunter world, slightly adjacent from the syndicates who do employ them from time-to-time.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see if this will get confirmed.
