Sony Developing ‘Spider-Man’ Spinoff Projects Focusing On Solo & Man-Wolf

Take the following with a pinch of salt, but there might be more Spider-Man spinoffs on the horizon from Sony Pictures and featuring more obscure characters.

Daniel Richtman claims on his Patreon page that three new spinoff projects are in development at Sony two of them will focus on Six Pack member James Bourne aka Solo and John Jameson aka Man-Wolf, the son of J. Jonah Jameson.

TheIlluminerdi was the first to post the rumbling.

This comes after TheWrap recently said that Roberto Orci (Star Trek) had been hired by the studio to develop an unnamed project for them, if true, I wouldn’t be shocked if Orci was working on one of these.

A Spider-Woman (potentially led by Jessica Drew) feature film is said to be also in works at Sony with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige rumored to be open to doing it as a co-production, like with the solo Spider-Man films.

Man-Wolf would certainly fit nicely alongside Jared Leto’s Morbius as Sony seemingly could put together their horror corner of the Spider-Man universe if they were inclined to.

Other feature film projects in the works previously reported on include Kraven The Hunter, Silver Sable, Black Cat, Nightwatch, Jackpot, and Madame Webb.

It remains to be seen if Sony Pictures will still be releasing Morbius on July 31st and Venom 2 on October 2nd.

Spider-Man 3 had been set to be the next project to go into production but the film’s possible summer shoot might be on hold if they can’t start pre-production on time.
