‘Resident Evil’ Reboot to Include Jill Valentine & Ada Wong

Casting is well underway for Screen Gems’ Resident Evil reboot.

A casting grid for the Resident Evil reboot posted on Daniel Richtman‘s Patreon page has revealed that both Jill Valentine and Ada Wong are characters potentially being cast for the video game flick.

Jill Valentine is leading protagonist from the Resident Evil video game franchise alongside other playable characters including Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield, and Leon S. Kennedy. The other three have been previously linked for roles in the reboot as well with possible actors in the mix to play them.

The character was previously played by British actress Sienna Guillory in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Afterlife (cameo), and Resident Evil: Retribution. Ada was played by Chinese actress Li Bingbing in Resident Evil: Retribution.

Filming was supposed to begin shooting next month before the coronavirus pandemic threw the entire production plans out the window and remains unclear when they could begin shooting.

It seems a little odd that the reboot would be aiming to include all the major characters from the games in the first film, but they might be trying to overcompensate for replacing Milla Jovovich’s Alice (the face of the film franchise), who was created specifically for the movies by Paul W.S. Anderson.

It’s unknown when they plan on releasing the reboot.
