Rumor of A ‘Hawkeye’ Disney+ Series Starring Jeremy Renner Now Confirmed – Said To Include Kate Bishop

Last year, our pals over at MCUCosmic reported that a Hawkeye project was being developed at Marvel Studios possibly for Disney+ that would include Kate Bishop.

Today, Variety has now confirmed that rumor that originated from MCUCosmic.

Variety has learned from sources that Disney’s upcoming streaming service is officially developing a limited series based on the archery ace Marvel character with Renner attached to star. The project is said to be an adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Barton. She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.

It remains to be seen where in the timeline this series could take place, but the expectation is that this could be before the snap or potentially afterward when we see him as Ronin in Japan taking out Yakuza members in the Avengers: Endgame trailer. It’s interesting that Kate Bishop would be involved given that we’ve already seen other possible Young Avengers teased over the last little while.

Variety didn’t add who will be writing or showrunning, we’ll likely get those details later on.

Jeremy Renner will be next seen in Avengers: Endgame on April 26th.
