Despite being set many years after the events of Star Wars: Return of The Jedi, a new rumor coming from ThatHashtagShow suggests we’ll see a direct link to that movie in the upcoming streaming series The Mandalorian. They’re now stating that The Mandalorian set has Gamorreans, the green pig men that were all over Jabba’s Palace in the original trilogy. As they’ve been possibly spotted on the set.
Inside sources have just revealed the presence of Gamorrean Guards on set.
Little is known about the pig-like ogres from Gamorr. Our primary exposure to the green-skinned, tusked behemoths was as guards in Jabba the Hutt’s palace in Return of the Jedi. They’re big, they’re brutish, and now, it seems, Gamorrean Guards will join Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian storyline.
I can’t say I’m a huge follower of the animated series, but this seemingly will be the first return of the alien species in the live-action incarnations in decades.
The show’s reported cast members for the Star Wars series includes Pedro Pascal, Nick Nolte, and Gina Carano. While there are others that only rumored.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Jon Favreau will write and produce with Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Taika Waititi officially directing episodes.
Filming has been underway since October in California.
The Mandalorian is said to ready for consumption when the Disney+ streaming service launches next fall.
