It was made official recently that Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys For Life would finally be going into production with both Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reprising their roles. Replacing previously attached director Joe Carnahan will be the duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

We’ve now learned from a source that filming on Bad Boys 3 is potentially set to begin filming next Monday in Atlanta. Filming will also take place in Miami eventually, but it looks like things will start out in Atlanta first.

There have been multiple previous hiccups delaying the production but it looks like Sony is finally moving forward with the third installment.

Rumored plot details from ThatHashtagShow suggested that the two will have been separated for years with Marcus (Lawrence) now a private detective and Mike (Smith) working with a new/young partner. The two are forced to reunite as a shadowy figure places a contract on their heads.

Will Smith had been previously expected to start shooting Bright 2 sometime in March, so a fall start on Bad Boys 3 makes sense. Smith had recently shot Ang Lee’s science fiction action film Gemini Man and could make a return as Deadshot for James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2 later next year or early 2020.

Sony Pictures had previously set the film’s release date for January 17th, 2020.
