RUMOR: Character Breakdowns For ‘Black Widow’ Movie Teases Villains

Our friends over at ThatHashtagShow was able to get some early character breakdowns for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow solo movie from director Cate Shortland.

The first one is supposedly the film’s main villain. They make guesses that characters such as Red Guardian, Taskmaster, and Night Raven could be potential candidates for this role.

The villain is simply described as “exciting” and the studio is open to ethnicity, but looking for someone in their 40s.

Two other roles that could be “friend or foe” are being described as contemporaries of Natasha. The former sounds like this female-Bond contemporary role could be Yelena Belova, a fellow Black Widow. Although, they were less likely to mention possible characters for that one.

The first is a “kick ass” female character described as a “female Bond” while the other is for a male with an emphasis on African, Middle Eastern or East Indian actors.

Another secondary villain said to be female in her 50’s is also being cast. I wouldn’t be terribly shocked given the age this character could be end-up being HYDRA/Serpent Society leader Ophelia Sarkissian. This is just my own speculation.

While the film’s lead villain will be a male, the studio is also looking for an actress in her 50s to play a smaller, villainous role. The character was only briefly described as a “conniving female villain”, leading us to wonder if she’s possibly a relic of the KGB’s Red Room and someone much more familiar to the Black Widow.

Filming is said to be possibly starting this February-March.

Black Widow’s release date hasn’t been confirmed but there is speculation that it drops on May 1st, 2020.
