Another rumored director seemingly has been linked to the second season of The Mandalorian, potentially joining confirmed directors Jon Favreau and Carl Weathers.
Charles Murphy now claims that he has heard that Ant-Man 3 director Peyton Reed will work on two episodes of the upcoming series.
That having been said, here you go: Peyton Reed is set to direct 2 episodes of the second season of the Disney Plus streaming series, The Mandalorian and Taikia Waititi is once again contributing to the series!
We’re certainly cautioning people to take this with a grain of salt, as is Charles, given that a recent rumor that Logan and Indiana Jones 5 director James Mangold would be directing on the Star Wars series was publicly denied by Mangold.
Mangold like James Gunn isn’t one to suffer rumors or misinformation being circulated.
Then again, Charles is regularly on-the-money with most of his Marvel stuff, so it’s worth noting this information could be a lot more valid than the stuff previously circulated recently.
Payton Reed along with the Russo Brothers and Taika Watititi visited the set of season one as seen in this behind the scenes photo posted by Jon Favreau on his Instagram account.
There is a good chance that at the Disney+ launch event in London this week, Lucasfilm could announce the names of the directors and we’ll know officially who is working on the series.
The Marvel director is also gearing up to begin shooting Ant-Man 3 next year in the United Kingdom and San Francisco, California with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Emma Fuhrmann expected to reprise their roles in the third installment.
The Mandalorian season two will begin airing on Disney+ starting in October.
