‘Rocketman’s Supervising Art Director Tim Blake Joins Edgar Wright’s ‘Last Night In Soho’

HN Entertainment has learned that Edgar Wright’s 1960s-set psychological horror film Last Night In Soho has added supervising art director Tim Blake. Blake’s credits include the Dextor Fletcher movies Eddie The Eagle and Rocketman, which means he certainly has extensive experience tackling period movies.

Other impressive crew members we previously revealed includes production designer Marcus Rowland (Baby Driver), cinematographer Chung-hoon Chung (IT), editor Paul Machliss (Baby Driver), and costume designer Odile Dicks-Mireaux (Chernobyl).

The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, The New Mutants), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), and Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit).

Filming is currently underway in Ealing and London/Soho. It’s also said to be shooting mainly at Ealing Studios, where Wright shot Shaun of The Dead.

This will be Edgar’s first full jump in the thriller/horror genre as he’s previously stated the movie would be an homage of sorts to the Donald Sutherland film Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, possibly taking more of a serious tone than his other projects.

His previous films have been more in the comedic realm tackling multiple genres with Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, and Baby Driver.

I’m excited to see Edgar Wright’s version of the swinging sixties in London’s Soho district.

An official release date for Last Night In Soho has yet to be announced.
