We’re excited to see Ridley Scott return to science fiction, even if it’s his television debut. Scott will produce and direct the TNT android series Raised By Wolves and we have a production update on the sci-fi series.

Raised by Wolves focuses on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious, virgin planet. As the colony of humans divides over religious differences, the androids learn controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous, difficult job.

HN Entertainment learned that filming is expected to take place in Cape Town, South Africa. Shooting is said to be taking place from mid-January until September. This would suggest that the casting process is up next and we should start hearing announcements soon.

Cape Town has been a booming production location as film/television projects include Dredd, Mad Max: Fury Road, Outlander, The Witcher, Homeland, Strike Back, Safe House, Black Sails, Tomb Raider, Bloodshot, Monster Hunter, and Doctor Who.

Ridley Scott also has a couple of other film projects in development as well with Disney’s Merlin Saga which has been in pre-production for months, a Gladiator sequel focusing an adult Lucius at DreamWorks/Paramount, and at one time The Cartel for 20th Century Fox.

TNT has yet to announce when they’ll start airing Raised By Wolves.
