Deadline is reporting that Ridley Scott and his production company Scott Free has landed the rights to Lawrence Wright’s new viral pandemic novel The End of October.
They also mention that Netflix one of the interested parties.

The director had been filming his revenge drama The Last Duel starring Matt Damon, Jodie Comer, and Adam Driver before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down productions globally.
Some of the other films Ridley had been developing in the last couple of years include an adaptation of Don Winslow’s The Cartel, a Merlin prequel for Disney based on the novels by T.A. Barron, and a third Alien prequel with the working title Alien: Awakening.
Scott was recently behind the sci-fi series Raised By Wolves which focuses on androids that raise children on off-world colonies, the series recently moved from TNT to HBO Max.
