‘Resident Evil 3’ Remake Officially Drops April 3rd, 2020 – Nemesis Returns In Terrifying First Trailer

Sony’s last State of Play for the year finally gave us an official announcement regarding the rumored Resident Evil 3 remake.

A teaser trailer for the game revealed it will be releasing on April 3rd, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also include the online game Resident Evil: Resistance, an asymmetrical co-op multiplayer game set within the same world. After the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake earlier this year, Capcom stated they would consider remaking Resident Evil 3: Nemesis depending on the fan reaction, and it seems like after the positive buzz they decided to move forward with it. Check out the trailer below.

So far it looks like the team has done an amazing job updating the character models and environments from the original game. We don’t see much of Nemesis, but we get a tease of what’s to come. The game will feature the same over-the-shoulder style that was introduced with Resident Evil 4, instead of the classic tank control.

The game is currently available for pre-order in Standard or Collector’s Edition. The massive Collector’s Edition comes with a copy of the game, an 11″ Jill Valentine statue, a double-sided map of Raccoon City, and much more. If you pre-order either version of the game, you’ll unlock the Classic Costume Pack for Jill and Carlos.

Taking place a few months after the original Resident Evil ends, Resident Evil 3 takes place both before and after the events of Resident Evil 2. While Leon and Claire’s stories occur after the city has already been infected for some time, Jill’s story provides a new perspective. Starting with the early days of the outbreak, you’ll follow Jill’s fight for survival as the population of the once-lively metropolis turns into hordes of undead.

Despite providing a thorough report on the Umbrella Corporation and the incident at the Arklay Mansion a few months prior, Jill’s investigation has largely been swept under the rug. Even though she’s been suspended from the police force, Jill is still on a mission to bring the truth to light. To do that, however, she first has to escape with her life and her investigation in tow. Setting out to put the wreckage of the city behind her once and for all, Jill runs headlong into one giant problem that all of her training and her harrowing experiences in the Arklay Mountains couldn’t prepare her for…
