SensaCine was able to sit down with Quentin Tarantino to talk about Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and the topic quickly switched to horror and if he’d consider making a horror movie. The idea stems from the interviewer making the direct comparison of the Spahn Ranch scene to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which I feel like was the intention.
Tarantino simply says if he can come up with a terrific script he’d happily make a horror movie.
SENA CINE: Why not make your 10th film a horror movie?
TARANTINO: “If I come up with a terrific horror film story I will do that as my 10th movie.”
“I love horror movies, I would love to do a horror film and I do actually think that Spahn Ranch sequence is the closest to a horror sequence. I do think it’s vaguely terrifying.”
That’s not to say he will or is currently trying to tackle the genre at the moment.
He’s dabbled in the horror genre writing the vampire action flick From Dusk Till Dawn for Robert Rodriguez and even taking a supporting lead role in the first act. His Grindhouse contribution Death Proof was sort of slasher film with the killer Stuntman Mike using his car to kill women.
Quentin has a lot of ideas to weigh before he ultimately picks his 10th and final feature film before moving on to miniseries like Bounty Law that he’s already multiple episodes for already.
