HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that production designer Naomi Shohan is currently working on Paramount Picture’s live-action Clifford The Big Red Dog, based on the classic children’s books from Norman Bridwell about a giant red dog.
Her credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, The Equalizer, The Equalizer 2, The Lovely Bones, Training Day, American Beauty, and The Replacement Killers.
The cast reportedly consists of Darby Camp (Big Little Lies, The Christmas Chronicles), Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise), Rosie Perez (Birds of Prey), Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), Sienna Guillory (Love Actually, High-Rise), and veteran comedian John Cleese.
The movie will see Emily (Darby Camp), who is struggling to fit in at home and at school, discover a small red puppy who is destined to become her best friend. When Clifford magically undergoes one heck of a growth spurt and attracts the attention of a genetics company, Emily and her Uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) have to fight the forces of greed as they go on the run across New York City.
It will be directed by Walt Becker.
Filming begins next month in New York City.
Paramount Pictures has given Clifford The Big Red Dog a release date of November 13th, 2020.
