Portion of Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ Will Take Place In Babylon During 800 B.C.

Eternals actress Lauren Ridloff may have accidentally revealed on her Instagram stories during some costume fittings that a portion of the film will be taking place in Babylon during 800 B.C.

A sign with the label is seen in the background with what looks to be material swatches in the costume department.

How do we know that this is the costume department?

The only thing is that some set photos from the Spanish Canary Islands have been showing off Babylon architecture being built for the film.

We also know that they shot scenes in modern times as well from other set photos.

Here are some events in the comics that have connections to ancient Babylon and Eternals.

Around 3,000 BC, the Kronans attempted an invasion of Earth. Landing in ancient Babylon, they fought King Gilgamesh of Uruk, who vanquished them with the aid of a time-traveling Captain America.

Thena encountered the Deviant Kro in Babylon 2,500 years ago. He had a chance to slay her, but did not; as the years passed, the two of them grew closer together.

Chloe Zhao is directing the cosmic film.

The cast/character lineup looks like this.

  • Gemma Chan as Sersi
  • Kit Harington as Black Knight
  • Barry Keoghan as Druig
  • Richard Madden as Ikaris
  • Angelina Jolie as Thena
  • Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo
  • Lauren Ridloff as Makkari
  • Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos
  • Salma Hayek as Ajak
  • Lia McHugh as Sprite
  • Don Lee as Gilgamesh

Eternals is officially set for release on November 6th, 2020.
