Docter is currently Pixar’s chief creative officer after replacing John Lasseter.
It sounds like Soul could be taking Pixar back into space, Wall-E had some slight space stuff but the animation studio has yet to really cover that angle of science fiction in a big way in their feature films.
We’ve seen Pixar homage Fantastic Four with The Incredibles, I’m kind of hoping that Soul is a mix of Lost In Space and Star Trek.
Toy Story 4 opens this weekend and their suburban fantasy adventure Onward (stars Chris Pratt and Tom Holland) will be released a couple of months before Soul on March 6th, 2020.
