Warner Bros. is going to be making an interesting push to make two live-action/CG animated projects this year with Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James along with Tom Story’s ‘Tom and Jerry’, there is now potential casting update on the former.
Our pals over at ThatHashtagShow reveal that the studio’s top choice to play the main villain in Tom and Jerry is Emmy-winning actor Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Avengers: Infinity War). This wouldn’t be the first time he’s played a villain as Peter was one of the baddies in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
We have learned that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is the studios top choice for the lead male role. If all works out Dinklage would take the role Terrance, the films antagonist, and Kayla’s boss.
Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse are old-timey cartoon characters that don’t speak but are known to be quite nasty to each other, the cartoon is likely better known these days as being the direct inspiration for the Simpsons parody The Itchy and Scratchy Show. The characters have since been tamed-down since their earlier incarnations.
They also add that filming may begin sooner than previously expected with filming taking place between June and September in London.
Production expected to begin this June in London, with hopes to wrap some time in mid to late September.
HN Entertainment can add that filming is taking place at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden with also recently confirming that Aladdin cinematographer Alan Stewart has joined the film.
A release date for Tom and Jerry has yet to be officially announced by Warner Bros.
