Pedro Pascal Seemingly Confirmed For Lead Role In ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘The Mandalorian’

A few months back, it was first revealed by MakingStarWars that Narcos and Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal would be taking a leading role in Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series The Mandalorian set within the Star Wars Universe.

Today, Variety has confirmed this rumor and it looks like Pascal has indeed joined the cast.

Pedro Pascal has been tapped to star in the “Star Wars” TV series “The Mandalorian,” which is expected to premiere on the Disney streaming service, Disney+. Pascal’s name had previously been rumored for the role, but sources say he was one of many actors being considered. Now, insiders tell Variety that he has been offered the role and negotiations are underway.

Although, the trade suggests negotiations are still underway despite filming on The Mandalorian already officially began back in October and presumably Pedro could already be shooting scenes. Seems a little confusing if you ask me.

Moving on.

The series will be written and produced by Jon Favreau with talented people such as Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow directing episodes.

Production has been underway since October in California.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian is expected to be ready for release when the Disney+ streaming service launches in the fall of 2019.
