It was kind of exciting when it was announced that James Cameron was returning to the Terminator franchise for the first time since Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He would end up vouching for friend and Deadpool director Tim Miller to helm the new film with an expectation it would be a direct sequel to Judgement Day.
The film releases later in the year and we have some new images to get excited over.
IGN was given a new batch of Terminator: Dark Fate images to release from Paramount which reveal some new looks from the female cast that includes a returning Linda, Natalia Reyes, and Mackenzie Davis. Along with first official looks at Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.
Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (T-800) return in their iconic roles in Terminator: Dark Fate, directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by visionary filmmaker James Cameron and David Ellison. Following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Dark Fate also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.
Some footage will be shown during the Paramount presentation at CinemaCon and there is an expectation that a trailer for Dark Fate is around the corner. There has also been a hint if Dark Fate is successful it could kick-off a trilogy, like with previous sequels that will now be retconned.
Paramount Pictures has set the release date of Terminator: Dark Fate for November 1st.
