Disney+ is going to have a wild lineup of content in the next couple of years and it will launch on November 12th. One the shows that we’ll see this fall is The Mandalorian, which is set in the Star Wars universe produced/written by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau.

In March, HN Entertainment exclusively revealed ahead of Star Wars Celebration that Lucasfilm and Disney had greenlit a second season of The Mandalorian. This reporting has now been confirmed by Favreau himself while on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

He also confirms his involvement for the next season which we had teased in our original report as well.

FAVREAU: “We’re done with the first season, I was actually writing part of the second season now. So, I’m having a blast.”

HN can also confirm that production designer Andrew L. Jones will be back for the second season after working on the first one.

It’ll be interesting to see how this second season will work and certainly suggests the first season will be good if they’re already writing the next one. This would give the impression that not all the Star Wars shows on Disney+ will be limited or one-off shows as once thought.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The cast of the upcoming series consists of Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, Bill Burr, Mark Boone, Emily Swallow, and Omid Abtahi.

The first episode is expected to be on Disney+ at launch come November 12th.
