Yesterday, we got some excellent details concerning Wes Anderson’s next picture The French Dispatch from IndieWire. They revealed the film will focus on a group of American journalists set in Paris (we assume possibly before or after WWII but a year has yet to be revealed). The report also refutes that project is a musical.
IndieWire adding that the cast will consist of Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton, Oscar-nominee Bill Murray, Oscar-winner Frances McDormand, Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro, Oscar-nominee Timothee Chalamet, and Jeffrey Wright.
A lot of Oscar talent among The French Dispatch’s cast and also behind the scenes as well.
HN Entertainment has learned that Italian costume designer and four-time Oscar-winner Milena Canonero will be reuniting with Wes Anderson for The French Dispatch. Canonero’s most recent Oscar win was for her fantastic work on The Grand Budapest Hotel. This will be her fourth time working alongside Wes Anderson for a feature film.
Milena’s other many iconic credits include Marie Antoinette, The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic, The Hunger, Midnight Express, along with multiple Stanely Kubrick films such as Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining.
Canonero will join fellow Grand Budapest alumni cinematographer Robert Yeoman and Adam Stockhausen, previously mentioned by our friends at DiscussingFilm.
Filming is currently underway in the south of France.
An official release date for The French Dispatch has yet to be announced.
