Universal might not be able to get Dwayne Johnson for Fast and Furious 9, but Vin Diesel has announced some returning talent from Fate of The Furious. Diesel posted a video on his official Instagram account that Oscar-winners Charlize Theron (Cipher) and Helen Mirren (Hattie Shaw) would be reprising their roles in the ninth installment.
You can watch the set video below where Vin makes the announcement.
The rest of the cast consists of Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, and Vinnie Bennett.
There is also a good chance that Michael Caine will appear as well.
Justin Lin is back directing and is expected to return for Fast and Furious 10 as well.
Charlize is currently shooting her Netflix comic book movie The Old Guard at Shepperton Studios, so she’s close by to shoot her scenes.
Fast and Furious 9 has been shooting since last month and is setting up shop primarily at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.
Universal Pictures has given the sequel a release date of May 22nd, 2020. The date was pushed out of April when Bond 25 was pushed to the first weekend after some production delays forced it out of the February 14th, 2020 spot.
