Talk of Doctor Strange supporting characters Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo and Clea (the daughter of Dormmamu) joining the upcoming sequel is now a new revelation.

Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson himself pointed out back in 2017 that he wanted Brother Voodoo to appear in the sequel, mentioning that his brother Daniel Drumm had been killed in the first film.

Daniel had been the overseer of the New York City Sanctum before being killed and Strange eventually took over those duties.

Also in 2017, Derrickson mentioned the desire to use both Nightmare and Clea.

Roger Wardell, who has been dropping MCU tidbits over the last year including that the Thunderbolts were on their way (now rumored for an introduction inThe Falcon & The Winter Soldier ) also stated in 2019 that both Voodoo and Strange’s fellow mystical arts wielder Clea would be making their debut in the sequel.

The latest version of this rumor is now coming from TheIlluminerdi (connected to ThatHashtagShow) stating that Voodoo and Clea will be showing up in the sequel alongside another new character they previously stated would be showing up, Young Avenger/Ultimates member America Chavez aka Miss America (who has the power to move through the Multiverse).

Filming on the Doctor Strange sequel is said to begin sometime in May at Pinewood Studios UK in England, despite losing director Scott Derrickson recently.

I have to assume if the casting is indeed underway and they’re still moving forward with the planned production start in May that Marvel Studios may have already found Scott’s replacement, they just haven’t made the announcement officially.

Both Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki are expected to lead directly into the Doctor Strange sequel, potentially cracking the door open for the Multiverse along with the film’s threat/villains.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is set to co-star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, who will reprise the role of Strange.

Benedict Wong is also set to return as Stephen’s cohort Wong.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 7th, 2021.
